 In all martial arts, whether empty hand to modern firearm to be studied under Great Lakes Training Group our philosophy revolves around 3 basics states of mind as in JuJitsu. Zanshin, Mushin, and Fudoshin. The proper combination of these elements gave the power, preparation and potential to the practitioner to excel in the art.
1. Zanshin  "remaining spirit" connotes the readiness for anything at any given time.2. Mushin "no mind" Its spontaneity permits instantaneous action without conscious thought.3. Fudoshin "immovable mind" during times of confrontation. 

 Judo and JuJitsu Instructors are Black Belt Instructors through the World Wide Martial Arts Association.
Firearms Instructors are permit to carry instructors certified by Great Lakes Training Group, Minnesota Dept of Public Safety, and/or in combination with NRA.
The owner Eric Holien's martial art background is 4th degree Black Belt in JuJitsu,, 3rd degree Black Belt Miyo Suki Ryu JuJutsu, 2nd degree Black Belt Judo.
His Firearms background is NRA Training Counselor and authorized to conduct basic and instructor training in the following: Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Person Protection in the Home, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, NRA Range Safety Officers, NRA Refuse to be a Victim Instructor. Is a Law Enforcement Customized Training Center Instructor for Alexandria Technical & Community College.
